About Jam

Jam Contemporary Art is the art collective of Devon-based creatives Michael Jones and Glen Middleham. Based in the ancient stannary town of Ashburton and nestled on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Jam launched in 2023 and creates an eclectic range of prints, nostalgic dioramas, and statement art pieces designed to spark a conversation. We also own a boutique gallery in Ashburton where we exhibit and sell much of the art that is available to purchase online.

About Michael and Glen

Profile photo of Michael Jones

Michael fell in love with noisy printing presses and the smell of ink during a summer spent working as a typesetter producing posters for bookmakers around the UK. After studying graphic design at Manchester Metropolitan University, he worked as a creative, designing for the broadcast media, commercial organisations, and charities.

Michael draws inspiration for his work from comic books from the 70s and 80s, vintage theatre, circus and music posters, and many of the artists who defined the pop art movement. In his work, he combines technology with more traditional printmaking methods, where he experiments with colour, patterns and textures.

Profile photo of Glen Middleham

Glen has been creating, making and designing for as long as he can remember. His 25-year career as an award-winning television producer continues to inform and inspire his artwork. Whether he was producing The Royal Variety Performance or Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Glen always delivered a sense of theatre in his productions – a recurring theme that’s evident in his artistic body of work.

He loves the drama that can be achieved with layers, collage and colour and is inspired by the glitz and glamour of bygone eras. Growing up in Torbay, Devon and enjoying many family walks on Dartmoor and the surrounding areas, it’s only to be expected that Glen’s pieces incorporate elements of the local landscape, coastal scenery and native wildlife.
