That was the challenge behind this recent private commission.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isselectedend\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGlen was delighted to be commissioned to create this highly personal artwork as a surprise gift for a client's husband.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isselectedend\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe brief brought together a number of much-loved themes:\u003cspan class=\"apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eMoulin Rouge\u003c\/em\u003e, David Bowie, the film's iconic four-word mantra, and a lyric from Bowie's rendition of\u003cspan class=\"apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eNature Boy\u003c\/em\u003e. The client, a fan of Glen's collage work, was looking for something distinctive, imaginative and full of character, and was happy to give Glen creative freedom in interpreting the brief.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isselectedend\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eInspired by an oversized vintage book, Glen's response was to create a theatrical diorama that celebrated both the visual spectacle of\u003cspan class=\"apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eMoulin Rouge\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan class=\"apple-converted-space\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eand Bowie's legendary flair for performance. Carefully constructed layers created depth and drama, while the various personal references were thoughtfully woven throughout the piece.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe finished artwork captured everything the client had hoped for and more.
